Skilled Nursing & Assisted Living (Combined calendar)
“After his stroke, Dad needed round-the-clock care and rehabilitation services at a facility I could trust. Trust is so important and I know the reputation of Pines of Sarasota. I know how caring the staff is and how they work with me. I see it every time I visit. It’s peace of mind for us both.”
A certified music therapist provides music therapy weekly. It’s an activity that promotes positive interactions among residents, improves their concentration and helps provide a sense of peacefulness. Staff members are active participants, enlivening things by encouraging and amusing residents.
Daily exercise and movement activities provide opportunities for residents to maintain and sometimes even increase their flexibility and mobility. Because of the benefits, we work hard to get and keep them involved
A favorite with residents are our weekly art classes, led by teachers who specialize in working with nursing home residents. Our Art Therapy instructors have helped dozens of residents realize artistic potential they were unaware they had! Many residents enter their art in the Sarasota County Fair Hobby Show And many bring home awards and ribbons!
Community outings to various cultural activities, local events and restaurants are a special treat that our more active residents look forward to attending.
Spiritual activities catering to various denominations are regularly available and Pines of Sarasota has an in-house Chaplain who, upon request, visits and counsels residents.
Residents socialize, get creative, and share their skills at our monthly themed tea parties.
Adult education opportunities provide the chance to stay involved and keep learning.
Our many discussion and topical programs allow residents share memories and past experiences with one another, an opportunity that promotes a sense of friendship among residents.
Always a joyous experience for everyone involved, intergenerational activities happen regularly with children from the onsite Child Care and Learning Center, with visiting local community service organizations and schools, and our very involved young volunteers. We’re also pleased to be a first choice for many student volunteers wishing to earn credit for Florida Bright Futures. Pines of Sarasota is grateful to the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation for their generous funding for our Intergenerational Programs.
The pet therapy provided by certified volunteers and professional groups offers stimulating and comforting interactions filed with joy between residents and pets.
A favorite with residents are the musical performances, where local professional entertainers provide entertainment ranging from jazz to country to classical.
Bingo, Memory Magic and board and card games are just some of the games enjoyed by residents, volunteers and visitors. The “Sunshine Club" meets regularly to play word games that use the alphabet to challenge residents mentally by jogging and sharpening memories.
