Pines of Sarasota Foundation Announces the Retirement of Longtime President Estelle Crawford

PRESS RELEASE

Sarasota, FL: July 27, 2017 – Estelle Crawford, longtime Pines of Sarasota Foundation President, announced her retirement after 11 years of service to the organization.

Estelle joined the Foundation in May 2006. During her tenure, the Foundation successfully raised funds to assist in the transformation of Pines of Sarasota campus and services including construction of the Jean and Alfred Goldstein Pavilion, creation of the Manser Rehabilitation Center and the Ann Goldstein Shear Delight Salon, development of the Ready & Steady falls prevention program, and a campus-wide beautification project.

She created the Foundation’s signature award-winning event, The Wit and Wisdom of Aging Luncheon, and focused much of her considerable energy on raising awareness of the impact of Pines’ mission, most especially for seniors who have outlived their financial resources.

“It has been an honor to work on behalf of Pines’ residents,” Estelle shared.  “They and their families are at the heart of everything we do. And it has been a privilege to know so many generous, compassionate individuals, organizations and companies and be a part of their philanthropic legacy.”

“Estelle was here for many of the transformative changes on campus, securing donor support to enable those changes to occur. We are grateful to her for her accomplishments and wish her only the very best as she moves to the next chapter in her life,” said John Overton, Pines of Sarasota’s President/CEO.

Pines of Sarasota Foundation Board Co-Chair Eddie Morton said, “Estelle led Pines of Sarasota Foundation with unmatched enthusiasm. As we look forward to continuing our mission of support for Pines of Sarasota, we thank Estelle for all she accomplished.” Board Co-Chair Jim Rutledge added, “Estelle’s amazing love of Pines and its residents was apparent in everything she did.  We will miss her greatly.”

“We have so much to look forward to,” exclaimed Crawford, “it’s kind of fun to not know exactly what comes next! But I’m sure I will be involved and active in some of the many great causes in our community.” Those who know her well will not be surprised to see her share her boundless energy with those in need.

The Foundation’s Director of Development, Janet K. Ginn, CFRE, will step in as Interim President beginning August 1. Crawford will serve in a consulting capacity to facilitate the transition until her retirement on September 30.
