To Whom It May Concern
I am writing to thank you and let you know how well your Pines of Sarasota Daycare Preschool has really helped my daughter, and prepared her for Kindergarten. I took her Wednesday, August 12, 2009, to be tested at Bay Haven School and the teacher that tested her could not believe that she had been through as much as she had. She commented on her vocabulary, the fact that she could recognize and sound out her letters, numbers, knew her shapes and colors, could write her name, enough for her to understand, she asked, "Where had this child been to school?" I gloated, the Pines of Sarasota. She told me they tested the incoming Kindergarten kids for placement, but that she was up to the top, like with the kids who did not have IEP, or have never had to have OT, Speech, or PT. I was so proud, but we always get compliments on how bright she is. She loves learning thanks to your staff. She first came to the Pines about two years ago. She was born at 28 weeks, has had two brain surgeries. She has a VP shunt because she has Hydrocephalus. She has had heart surgery, suffers from Chronic Lung Disease and mild Cerebral Palsy, as well as other problems. She received therapies before she came here. She was at PPEC, a place for handicapped kids. But, from our first day here at the preschool she has done nothing but excel.
Your staff, headed by Mrs. Connie, has been a blessing to my child and our family. I remember when I first met Mrs. Connie. She was so nice and concerned and really made me feel at ease. I knew in my heart once I left my child she would be alright. Mrs. Connie told me that she would be put with all the regular kids and with that she grew, they took to her and her to them. One would never know my child was here on an IEP, or that the first few years of her life were touch and go. We were introduced to so much reading and books! I remember telling Mrs. Connie that she wanted me to keep reading the same book over and over, I thought we should move on but Mrs. Connie and Mrs. Bonnie told me to "keep reading, she will learn the words," now she reads the book to me. That is the point I want to make, this school has helped me as much as it has helped my child.
It is hard having a child with special needs, but the special people at your daycare really went above and beyond with her. With Mrs. Bonnie and Mrs. Jo, she was made to feel like there was nothing she could not do, the daily reports keep me aware of what she did all day and what she was learning for the week, so I could work with her at home. Mrs. Bonnie keeps the classroom colorful and interesting and it made her want to learn, I could count on her coming home and telling me something good every day, sometimes in Spanish. We will really miss the staff here when we start Kindergarten but I hope this daycare continues on, it is needed in our community, our kids need this jump-start for Elementary, and your program makes a difference. Again, I cannot tell you how grateful I am that my daughter went here for Preschool. Thank you.

My husband and I just wanted to drop a note to say how impressed we have been with your program since we began in August. From your child-centered classrooms filled with toys, games, room pets, books, and music, to the balanced meals I could never pack myself, to the Staff who is consistently welcoming, loving, and engaged in playing and teaching every day – we are so thankful.
I must also include how pleased I have been to hear my two-year old talk about the garden, while nibbling parsley on the way home and how wonderful it has been to see my Oliver begin to make new friends after a heart-wrenching move from our old home.
Thank you for show and tell, notes about naps, bumps, meals, frustrations, and victories.
Thank you for the exhausting job you do every day to create a place I can feel great about leaving my kids in for a long work day. I could not ask for more.
