Letter from the CEO
Welcome to Pines of Sarasota, a beautiful seventeen-acre campus with an exemplary history of providing compassionate care for the mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers of Southwest Floridians for over sixty-two years.Originally founded by the Kiwanis Club of Sarasota as one of Florida's first skilled nursing homes, Pines has remained under the same ownership since inception and has established deep roots within our community. Through the years, our services and campus have expanded in response to our growing population's needs, and our revenues have grown from $15,000 in 1948 to over $20 million.
Most impressive and unique about our non-profit community is the continuity of care we provide our residents as a result of the longevity of our dedicated caregivers. Almost 50% of our staff has been employed at Pines five years or more, which is virtually unheard of in our profession. So you can understand why we truly mean it when we say, "We are all a family at Pines."
Today, in addition to skilled nursing services, Pines' many diversified programs include inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, secured dementia care, assisted living residences, and a pre-school for children ranging from infants to kindergarten age.
Pines is also proud to be home to the Education Institute of Southwest Florida, which is an integral part of the training and support we offer family members and caregivers who need assistance caring for seniors. Whether attending onsite classes at Pines or via our website and videos, the Institute offers informative, practical solutions for caregivers.
To help support our mission of providing care for those residents who have outlived their financial resources, Pines is fortunate to have two thrift stores that are open to the public daily and are overflowing with an eclectic variety of donated treasures.
As the baby boomer generation ages, we are looking forward to meeting the challenges of the next sixty years and to providing our seniors with a community that continues to offer quality facilities and services in a compassionate setting. We invite you to schedule a visit to see the "Magic of Pines" for yourself as we would welcome the opportunity to have you tour our campus.
